Two SE24 displays: Herne Hill Velodrome on Saturday 31 October and Dulwich Sports Club on 7 November, both 7pm, £13 adults, £1 under-12s, advance only.
The Dulwich Firework Display is on Saturday 7 November 2026 at Dulwich Sports Club, Giant Arches Road, SE24 9HP. Gates open at 5pm, live music runs from 5.30pm, and the fireworks go off at about 7pm, “come rain or shine”. The display lasts roughly 15 to 20 minutes.
Bonfire night itself falls on Thursday 5 November this year, so the Dulwich display is on the Saturday after it, not the night.
Two things to get right before anything else. There are no tickets on the night, and the club says the event “always sells out”. Tickets went on sale on 3 August 2026 and were still on sale when we checked again on 2 October.

Prices
The club’s own Eventbrite listing gives three face values:
- Full price £13
- Juniors £8
- Kids under 12, £1, the “kid for a quid” ticket
Under-12s still need a ticket even at a pound. The club explains why in a footnote: it is “to enable tracking of total numbers in attendance”. Eventbrite adds a booking fee on top, and the highest price shown in the listing data is £14.49, so budget about £1.49 a head above the face value.
Refunds are narrow. The club’s policy is that “refunds will only be given in the event that no fireworks are set off”. If you cannot go, it points you at Tixel, its official resale partner, which it sets up a month before the event.
Getting there, because there is no parking
The club is blunt about this: “There is no parking available onsite on the night.” It asks people to walk, cycle or use public transport.
- Trains: a 10 minute walk from Herne Hill, North Dulwich and West Dulwich.
- Buses: the 3 and 201 to Croxted Road / Turney Road, the 37 to Half Moon Lane / Burbage Road.
- Entrances: two access and exit points, via Giant Arches onto Burbage Road and onto Turney Road. Regulars should note the Turney Road route, which is a change from the old single entrance.
- Step-free access is via the tarmac road on Giant Arches off Burbage Road.
The club also warns about “illegal street sellers operating on Burbage & Turney Roads”, which are nothing to do with the event.
The rules that catch people out
- No sparklers. They will not be allowed on site.
- No alcohol brought in. There are bars, including mulled wine and real ale.
- Under-16s must be with a responsible adult and supervised throughout.
- Buggies must be left in the buggy parks at the entrances, one by the clubhouse and one on the tennis courts near the Turney Road gate. No buggies in the pavilion or the main spectator area.
- Dogs are discouraged rather than banned. The club cites RSPCA advice on fireworks noise. Assistance dogs are the exception.
- Toilets are on the cricket field, near the cricket nets.
Food and drink runs to burgers, BBQ, Indian, pizza, a kids’ bar, mulled wine and real ale. The music is headlined by Matthew Lynch, playing crowd favourites and children’s songs from 5.30pm to 7pm. The display is fired by Brilliant Fireworks, and the event is promoted by Irvin Leisure.
Herne Hill Velodrome, Saturday 31 October
The Friends of Herne Hill Velodrome are putting on Halloween Fireworks at the velodrome, 104 Burbage Road, SE24 9HD, on Saturday 31 October 2026. It is a few minutes’ walk down Burbage Road from the Sports Club, and a week earlier. The Friends’ event page gives the running order:

Tickets are £13 for adults, £8 for 12 to 16 year olds and £1 for under-12s, who must come with an adult. Each ticket carries its own booking fee (£1, 75p and 50p). As at the Sports Club, tickets are only sold in advance.
The rules are the Friends’ own: no alcohol, glass or food brought in (there are food and drink stalls), refunds only if the event is cancelled, and a ticket can be transferred if you cannot go. The event is wheelchair accessible, but the Friends ask you to contact them first on friends@hhvt.org. The lost child point is the ambulance on the right as you come in.
There is no parking at the velodrome “and parking in the local area is limited”. The transport advice is the same as for the Sports Club: Herne Hill, North Dulwich and West Dulwich stations, the 3 and 201 to Croxted Road / Turney Road, the 37 to Half Moon Lane / Burbage Road. The Friends say the money raised supports the velodrome and community cycling.
Dulwich fireworks 2026 against the big south London displays
The two Dulwich displays are small, local and cheap for children. The big ones nearby are a different kind of night, and two of them land on the same Saturday as the Sports Club.

Blackheath is Lewisham Council’s display, run by Slammin Events, with 40,000 people expected on Blackheath Common from 5pm to 10pm on Saturday 7 November. General sale opened on 8 September, and the council says last year’s event sold out within weeks. The site has three entrances this year, Blackheath Gate, Lewisham Gate and Greenwich Gate (Lewisham Council).
Battersea Park is Wandsworth Council’s, run by Enable, over two nights. On Saturday gates open at 6pm and close at 8pm, with fireworks at about 8.30pm; on Sunday gates open at 4.30pm, close at 6.30pm, and the fireworks start at 7pm. Tickets are advance only, non-refundable and non-transferable, with no resale or waiting list for sold-out nights (Battersea Park Fireworks).
For a family with young children the arithmetic is simple: an under-12 costs £1 at either Dulwich display, and both are a walk from Herne Hill, North Dulwich and West Dulwich stations. If 7 November is the only night you can do, the Sports Club finishes at about 7.30pm, an hour before Battersea’s first rocket.
Is there a Southwark Council display? No, and there will not be
If you are looking for the old Southwark Park display, it is gone, and the council has said so plainly. In a statement dated 5 October 2022, Southwark Council confirmed “that the firework display in Southwark Park will not be taking place this year, with no plans for its return going forward”. Cllr Catherine Rose, then cabinet member for leisure, parks, streets and clean air, gave the reason as the cost of living crisis and the fallout from Covid: “We will be using our resources for this, and to support our parks all year round.”
Nothing has changed since. There is no fireworks event in Southwark’s Southwark Presents listings for this autumn, and no council display at Peckham Rye, Burgess Park or Southwark Park. In this borough, bonfire night is now something clubs and volunteers put on, which is exactly what Dulwich Sports Club and the Friends of Herne Hill Velodrome are doing.

When are the Dulwich fireworks in 2026?

Can I buy tickets on the night?
No, at neither display. Both sell in advance only: the Sports Club through Eventbrite and the velodrome through the Friends’ own booking link. The Sports Club says its display always sells out.
How much are tickets?
£13 for adults and £8 for juniors at both. Under-12s are £1, the Sports Club’s “kid for a quid” ticket, and they still need a ticket. Booking fees are extra.
Is there parking?
No. Neither the Sports Club nor the velodrome has parking on the night. Herne Hill, North Dulwich and West Dulwich stations are about 10 minutes’ walk, and the 3, 201 and 37 buses stop close by.
Can I bring sparklers or a dog?
Sparklers are banned at the Sports Club. Dogs are discouraged there rather than banned, on RSPCA advice about firework noise, and assistance dogs are welcome.
Is there a council fireworks display in Southwark?
No. Southwark Council ended the Southwark Park display in 2022 with no plans to bring it back. The nearest council-backed displays are Blackheath (Lewisham) and Battersea Park (Wandsworth), both on Saturday 7 November.
